Founder’s Story

5layer Solutions was founded by <name>, a security and networking architect with over two decades of experience designing, assessing, and operating complex enterprise networks and security architectures across global environments.

<name> spent 18 years at Cisco, working across architecture, services, product, and partner success roles in both India and the United States. As a Solutions Architect, he led the design, assessment, and implementation of large-scale global enterprise and service provider networks, spanning campus, data centre, WAN, and cloud-connected environments. This work included evaluating existing architectures, identifying design and operational gaps, and building resilient network foundations to support mission-critical business operations.

In parallel, he developed deep expertise in security architecture and risk management. He advised customers on secure network and cloud designs, conducted security posture and risk assessments, and helped organisations adopt identity-driven access models, segmentation, and Zero Trust principles across distributed environments. His work consistently focused on aligning security controls with business risk, operational realities, and long-term sustainability.

Across these engagements, a clear pattern emerged:
security failures were rarely the result of missing tools. Instead, they stemmed from fragmented systems — where identity, networks, cloud platforms, applications, and security operations evolved independently without architectural cohesion.

As a Solutions Architect and later a Services Product Architect, <name> designed and delivered assessment-led security and networking services centred on risk-based decision making, architectural clarity, and operational effectiveness. These services translated complex technical findings into practical roadmaps that business leaders, security teams, and network engineers could execute together.

In his subsequent role as a Partner Success Executive, he worked closely with global channel partners to help them build services-led security practices, improve software adoption and renewals, and deliver measurable customer outcomes — reinforcing his belief that effective security is achieved through people, process, and systems working together, not isolated product deployments.

His professional approach is grounded in a strong technical and business foundation. <name> holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, which shaped his systems-oriented view of design, reliability, and failure modes, and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), which strengthened his ability to connect technical architecture with business strategy and executive decision-making.
